A couple weeks ago we bought bikes for Andy and the older two kids. Becca's does not have training wheels, but with all the rain we were unable to start practicing with her. This week there was a day that it rained only part of the day and I helped Becca start learning to ride on her own. We worked for half an hour or so. Today was a beautiful day so Andy took her to the basketball court (the smoothest area in our neighborhood) to practice more. He was holding on to the back and running beside her for about 15 minutes when Josh needed some assistance. Becca told Andy to go help Josh. She told me that as she sat there she thought, "I think I can try it on my own." Andy looked up and look what he saw:

Wow! Look at her go! Is that really my little girl? She spent the rest of the afternoon riding on her own. Becca was so excited that she asked Andy if she could call me on Andy's phone to share her accomplishment. When she got home, she told me, "Mom, maybe in a year or two, I can ride to Tesco or the produce market with you!" Be still, my heart!
