Chun Jie Kuai Le!

(Happy Chinese New Year!)

Well, it officially starts next week, but on Saturday we attended Andy's company Chinese New Year party. It was a really fun and interesting evening. The party was held at a restaurant near our house and the entire family was invited. The night included dinner, many prizes, games, and even some singing. Pictures definitely tell a better story.....

Andy giving his speech to kick off the party (doesn't he look spiffy in his suit?)
Tori trying duck tongue. Now she didn't really like, but hey she tried it!
There were many games (and somehow I ended up playing in a couple of them). This game had two teams and someone would call out an item and the first team to produce that item would get a point. The truly challenging part was that of course they were calling out the items in Chinese. One of the women on my team was translating some of it for me, but since we were supposed to do it quickly sometimes someone had already produced the item before she could tell me. So if you look closely at me in the picture, I am wearing a confused expression as I try to understand what is being said. ;-)
Another game: 2 children were chosen to be wrapped up as gifts. Tori and I were decorating Becca.
The finished product!
Tori trying something else... (she is such an adventurous eater) a sweet rice dessert. She is showing a manager at the company what she is eating.
Yet another game... I really liked watching this one! 6 people were holding strings while someone tried to direct a blindfolded friend through. This guy was originally trying to do it with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth! :-D
The mic was passed around and quite a few people sang for the group. Becca sang a song she had learned at school. My girlie did an amazing job!

  1. I noticed that most people are wearing their winter coats in the pictures. Another example of no indoor heat? :-)

Looks like a seriously good time. Except for the duck tongue...
