Suzhou Amusement Land

Our neighborhood is right across the street from an amusement park (think the size of a State Fair without the animals) and we FINALLY went yesterday. Andy was given family season passes when he met with the local government to welcome us. But after giving us one, the person thought about it and realized that a FAMILY pass is only 3 PEOPLE! They had to stop and think about what to do with a family with sange heizi (3 kids)! They ended up sending us a second one. :-) The kids were excited to ride some of the kiddie rides. Becca rode a kiddie roller coaster and the swings and decided that both went too fast! She is unsure if she will ride them again in the immediate future. Becca needs to think things through before she makes decisions. She informed me that she might need to practice on the swings on the playground so she is more used to going fast. Josh, who can be hesitant, was more than happy to ride the low-key stuff. Tori on the other hand was in tears because she was too small to ride the kiddie roller coaster. She kept moaning, "I'm not small! I'm big!" Andy and I were humored by a ride reminiscent of someplace else - "Small world" boat ride complete with the song playing in the background. Ahh, welcome to the land of copies! ;-) We had a great afternoon and finished the day off at our favorite restaurant - Beijang (the Middle Eastern Chinese food).

  1. And to think I was excited to have CVS across the street... What a fun place! Are those animal cars inflatable or do they just look like it? Love Becca's comment about "practicing" for the swings. :-) Miss you guys.

  2. It is a fun place. I look forward to going when it isn't so HOT! The animal cars are inflatable (though the dragon was a bit droopy). Funny thing happened when I drove mine - I didn't understand the directions (he was speaking in Chinese) so I did the wrong thing. He yelled at me and kept giving me looks like I was crazy. Someday, I'll understand more....

    Miss you, too!
