We hired a taxi driver for the day and set off for Mount Kinabalu, which was about 1 1/2 hours from our hotel. The road up the mountain was the typical winding, crazy affair, but our driver drove like he was in a road race! About halfway up the mountain, Becca, Josh and I began to feel a bit queasy. We stopped, got drinks of water and continued on. Suddenly Josh got sick all over himself and the backseat of the taxi. We were not off to the greatest of starts!
Thankfully, Josh started feeling better afterwards. We continued up the mountain and went hiking in the Kinabalu Park area. There was a garden that contained many plants from all over Sabah (the area of Borneo where we stayed) that we absolutely loved trekking through. Andy couldn't stop taking pictures of all the amazing plants. Here are some of our favorites....
In order to have a happy boyo, I stopped and bought Josh a new shirt near the top (for obvious reasons). Here he is showing off his new shirt - he really liked it because it has a map of Borneo. All week he kept showing us on his shirt where we were. Yes, he wore that shirt MULTIPLE days without washing!
Pitcher plants
Becca liked the size of these leaves
What a funky plant!
